Kate Coiro is a Brooklyn-based documentarian who believes storytelling is fundamental to the human experience and a powerful agent for change, capable of connecting people across borders, cultures and ideologies. She is most passionate about cinéma vérité style character-driven narratives that explore the significance of place, shed light on intersecting social and environmental justice issues and illustrate the dual human pursuit of individuality and belonging in new and creative ways.
Kate is a full-time associate producer at Library Films, where she is currently working on a documentary feature scheduled to be released for streaming to an international audience in fall 2025. On the side, she is directing a documentary short film about teenage climate activists in New York City and remains open to a variety of freelance opportunities (inquiries welcome via the form below). Previously, Kate contributed to a number of documentaries for Loki Films, including "Folktales" (Sundance, 2025). Outside of her professional pursuits, Kate likes to spend her time outdoors, listening to music and traveling. |
